Murdis Delores Stovall, 92, was peacefully called home to her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, in Silver Spring, MD. She was born in Henry County, Alabama's Shorterville on June 12, 1931, to the late Julia Black and John Anthony.

She was preceded in death by her eight siblings: John Ester, Pearline, Roosevelt, Maenella, Marene, Odis, Edward Anthony, and another sibling who passed away at birth.

Murdis and Archester Stovall married on January 20, 1949, and have been a testament to enduring love and communication for over 74 years. They were blessed with three children and moved to Aliquippa in 1956.

Murdis accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and she was a member of Tried Stone Missionary Baptist Church of Aliquippa, PA for over 60 years and was a member until her passing. She served in several positions at church including being a member of the Modern Club, a member of the Nurses Unit, a member of Missionary Number 1, and serving as the secretary and treasurer for the Sunday School. Murdis had served as a deaconess since 1997, was the secretary for the deaconess board, and was also a member of the Deborah Grand Chapter. She worked at Sewickley Valley Hospital early in her career and at J C Penny, until she retired and earned an associate degree from the Community College of Beaver County in Beaver, Pennsylvania in 1982. Her family was very important to her and she enjoyed traveling with her family and friends to visit many different places.

Murdis had a caring spirit and enjoyed cooking for her family, especially her sweet potato pies, collard greens, creamed corn, black-eye peas, and cornbread. Whenever family visited, they all wanted to stay with "Aunt Black" as she was affectionately called. Her home was open to all who needed a place to stay. She was loving and compassionate and a special gift to her family and community. To be in her presence was a blessing. Murdis's children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life. She spent countless hours taking her children to different activities. She enjoyed watching her sons and daughter play and received great joy in watching her grandchildren and great-
grandchildren grow. Some of her favorite pastimes were completing word-search puzzles, talking on the phone to her friends, picking up donuts from Mac's, faithfully attending church service, and watching Judge Judy and Judge Mathis. Because of the pandemic of 2020, Murdis spent the last five years of her life residing with her daughter in Silver Spring, Maryland, and Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Her beloved Aliquippa, PA friends and her Tried Stone Missionary Baptist Church family always called to check on her.

Murdis leaves to cherish her memory her husband Archester Stovall, her son Lester Stovall (Lynda Stovall), her daughter Brenda Stovall (Edward Ball), her son Morgan Stovall, seven grandchildren; Anthony Stewart (Angela Stewart), Rashaad Toombs, Kevin Motley (April
Motley), Jason Motley, Briana Arrington, and Bianca Garcia, eight great-grandchildren; Morgan Stewart, Ethan Motley, Myles Stewart, Ella Motely, Jaxon Cole Garcia, Zakir Toombs, Ellianna Motley, and Zayden Amari Ruffin, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear
friends.

Murdis Stovall's legacy of love, faith, and service will forever resonate in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in eternal peace.
