Nancy. A five-letter word that symbolized more than just a name. Nancy was a sister, a mother, a grandmother, and above all else a believer. She was a God-fearing woman and put the "fear" in God-fearing. Just take a walk through her home and you wouldn't make it two feet without one of Nancy's scriptures on the wall or a reminder that you are blessed in the bathroom or loved in her kitchen.

She was the daughter of Sunny and Fannie Mae Perry. Her big personality may mislead you to believe she was an only child when in fact she was the middle. Standing out as the only girl she shared a childhood with her brother Mitchell and late brother Anthony. She then grew up and started a family of her own. Her first born was Robert Jr, following Khiry, Donte, Nakesha, and Keith Jr. During her time on earth, she was promoted to grandmother and such a title she wore with prestige.

She was audacious, passionate, persistent, and so much more. Her beauty and personality were packaged up in a small frame with her jet-black hair and contagious energy. Her charisma could brighten up any room on the darkest day.

Nancy found joy in helping others. At times she may have come off overbearing but at the core of all her intentions it was always love. Her love for her children and her grandchildren was unwavering; and it is more than just what we remember today. It is her existence far beyond this moment. It is the feeling when you are driving and you remember her, when you are doing the dishes and reminiscence, when you laugh out of the blue, when you watch your children grow and see flecks of her in them, her love is ageless and will be felt far beyond her years.

In true Nancy fashion there would only be one way to do her justice. We leave off today with a passage to honor her memory. 1 Corinthians 13:13 "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." Nancy Marie Jones, we promise this day to never let your love die.
