Nora Estella Hamilton, 88, of Erie, PA received her wings on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 10, 1933 in Haw Branch, NC to the late Amos Lee Thompson and Nora Elizabeth Deaver-Thompson.

Nora was a devoted and faithful member of Greater Calvary Baptist Church where she served as a mother of the church and on the missionary board.

She retired from GE and was also employed by Community Health Net of Erie. She loved people and raveled in helping anyone. To know her was to love her!

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Lavon Thompson; two sisters, Florence Canady and Joyce Thompson; one granddaughter Brandi Rose; son-in-law Claude Allen Jr. and daughter-in-law Fannie Mae Hamilton.

She leaves to cherish her legacy, twin daughters, Brenda (George) Davis and Linda (Claude) Allen both of Erie, PA; two sons, Bobby (Carol) Hamilton of Charlotte, NC and Michael (Fannie) Hamilton of Erie, PA; two sisters Rosa Bailey and Zulane Funches of Chicago, IL; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Friends and family may visit at Greater Calvary Baptist Church, 2624 German Street on Saturday, December 4, 2021 from 10am to 12pm with a home going celebration immediately following. The eulogy will be given by Bishop Jesse N. Gavin. Interment will be at Erie County Memorial Gardens. Professional services are entrusted to Pitts Funeral Home, 2926 Pine Avenue, Erie, PA 16504.
