Richard Eugene Williams, 73, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2022.  He was born on December 4, 1948 to the late Geraldine Williams and the late Eugene Barnes in Homestead, PA.

Richard moved to Erie, PA., with his family when he was a teenager.  He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Richard was employed by the Erie County Court House, GE and Veterans Administration Hospital where he retired, in 2009.

He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan he also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Richard and Anna Cox Williams, one sister, Rosetta Williams, two brothers, Alphonso and Robert Williams, His Aunts: Dorothy, Mary Jane, Emily, Richlene and Joan Williams and an Uncle, Herman Williams. Two close friends, Willie Glenn Bolden and VeLester Carlisle.

He leaves to cherish in his memory, his Children, Paul Flemings (Contina), Terrence Flemings (Shannon), Richard Flemings (Cassaundra), Velester Flemings (Chrissiandra), Valisa Flemings (Sean) and Scott Flemings, one sister, Melissa Williams and one brother, Otis Williams. In addition, he is also survived by two aunts, Larcenia Tate and Reverend Beverly Williams; twenty-three grandchildren and twenty-nine great- grandchildren, a special Cousin Cynthia Williams, along with a host of relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the family at Morning Star Baptist Church, Reverend Duane Hunter, Pastor, 327 E. 23 ^rd St., on Thursday, July 14, 2022, from 10 am to 12 pm, where a home going service will immediately follow with Deacon Beary Clark, Eulogizing.  Following service, interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery with full Military Honors.  Professional services are entrusted to Pitts Funeral Home, 2926 Pine Ave., Erie, PA. 16504.
