Robert Buchanan, 78, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2022.

He was born on July 4, 1943, in Houston, MS to his parents, the late Roy B. Buchanan and Ulene Hamilton.

Robert worked at General Electric for over 30 years until his retirement.  He also worked at Presque Isle Downs and Casino after his retirement.  He loved music, traveling, westerns, was an avid Indianapolis Colts Fan and he loved to cook.  Above all he loved his family and had a robust, hearty voice that you could not forget.

He was preceded in death by his lovely wife of 40 years, Daisy Cooley-Buchanan, a brother, Wardell Davenport and a son Romeo Cooley, Sr.

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters Ann Beler-Newton of Stafford, VA, Rhonda Gambill (Joe Gambill) and Sherry Johnson (Michael Johnson) of Erie, PA, Shelley Howard (Melvin Gooden) of Pittsburgh, PA, Ulene James of Jackson, MS, Stacie Johnson of Edwardsville, IL, his sons Kelley Cooley, Jr. and Kevin Cooley of Erie, PA. In addition, he leaves 22 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren who will miss him dearly. Also, he is survived by his siblings, Freda Davenport and MaryAnn Davenport of Denver, CO, Debra Buchanan of Chicago, IL, and Wayne Buchanan of Little Rock, AK.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, May 27, 2022, from 10:00-12:00 until the hour of service at 12:00 noon at Abundant Life Ministries, 806 Parade Street, Erie, PA.  Bishop James H. Hudson of Hope and Faith Chapel Church of God Pentecostal officiating.
