Obituary

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Roland Chandler, who left us on June 28, 2026, at the age of 68 after a brave battle with illness.

Born on July 19, 1957, in Washington, Pennsylvania, Roland was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, who touched the lives of many with his warmth and humor.

Roland was the beloved son of the late William E. Chandler and Jessie Carmelita Dobbs. He was preceded in death by his sister Carolyn Chandler, brother David Chandler, stepfather Grover Blanchard, and godson Deante Pittman.

He honored their memories with strength, resilience, and a deep appreciation for life.

Roland attended Tech Memorial High School and held various roles throughout his career, working at KFC, Harrington Laundry, a car wash, and providing a personal Uber service. He was also, a die-hard steelers fan and enjoyed fishing.

Roland is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Melody, who stood by his side through every joy and challenge. He is also, survived by 1 brother, William E. Chandler Jr(Paula), 3 sisters Cindy, Teresa, Rose(Richard), and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandchildren. He was blessed with 16 children: Teretha (Nathaniel), Roland, Michael, Shayla, Toya, Syretta (Jessica), Danetta, Joseph, Jaime, William, Brian, Andre, Ashley, Stasha, Brenda, Jeremiah, and the memory of his son Travis who predeceased him. His legacy continues through the lives of his children, each a testament to his love and dedication as a father.
