Ronald Henry Woods, 93, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2025. It is fitting that he passed on International Happiness Day because he always knew how to bring a smile to your face. He lived life on his own terms, in his own way, and made the world brighter with his humor and love.

Ronald was born on May 17,1931 in Aliquippa, PA to the late Sadie Jane Woods and Andrew Nesbit Woods Sr. He worked at Jones and Laughlin Steel Company and Pittsburgh International Airport after graduating from Aliquippa High School. His humor was always coupled with his love for his family, who could count on him to always be there and take care of any situation that might arise. He was known for his quick wit and unmatched humor and has left us with countless memories of joy and laughter. He might have been the first to roll his eyes at sentimentality but his love for his family was undeniable. He may not have been a fan of conventional expressions of joy, but he showed his love for us in every laugh, sarcastic quip, and every moment spent together. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love, and unforgettable memories, especially with his children and grandchildren who brought him so much joy.

Ronald, the patriarch of five generations, is now with his wife of 65 years, Gertrude "Ducy" Woods. He was a devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Great-Great Grandfather, and Uncle. He was the cherished Father of Albert "Jack" (Manala) Bryant, Richard (Debra) Bryant, Audrey (Jeffery Anderson) Woods, Ashanti Genes, daughter-in-law Paulette Woods, and the late Terry Woods Sr. and the late Ronnie Woods.

Ronald once told his grandson, "There will come a time when you have to go your way, and I will go mine." And now, those of us left behind must find our way without him, carrying forward the lessons, laughter, and love he shared with us. He is survived by those who will continue to honor his memory and keep his spirit alive– his beloved family including grandchildren Jacqueline Riggins, Dawn Woods, Terry Woods Jr., Shannon Woods, Ashley (David) Miller, Calshon Wimbs, Teagan Wimbs whom he called his sunshine, and Zion Collins. He is also survived by devoted relatives Na'Shaya (Chaz) Oden, Nikolai Woods, Audrianna Oden, Brielle Oden, Mathis Oden, Jo Lorraine Woods, Bishop Kenneth (Jeniece) Crumb, Orville Crumb, and Orville Crumb Jr.   Ronald was fortunate enough to spend his final days surrounded by five generations of children and grandchildren. Ronald had a life well-lived and a heart well-loved. He lived 93 years of laughter, sarcasm and love and knew that laughter was the best medicine and made sure we all got our daily dose.

Along with his wife and parents, Ronald is now reunited with his hero Wayne "Hoss" (Bibbiliion) Woods Sr, dear sisters Mary Jane (Willie) Laird, Sadie (Peter) Crumb, and beloved brother Andrew (Martha) Woods Jr. He is also reunited with his mother and father-in-law, Albert and Lucille Bryant.

The Woods family would like to express deep gratitude to the staff at Concordia at Villa St. Joseph who took excellent care of Ronald and his family in his final days. You are our angels.
