Roosevelt Jermaine Johnson, 47, of Erie, PA, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at UPMC Hamot. He was born on October 15, 1972 in Benton Harbor, MI to Ted Gatlin and Doris Carter Johnson.

Roosevelt attended West Side High School in Gary Indiana. He enjoyed cooking, singing, and being around family and friends.

Roosevelt was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jack and Aldonia Gatlin, and his maternal grandparents, Henry and Mary Alexander.

In addition to his parents, he leaves to cherish his memories, his brothers, Craig Johnson, Robert Johnson, and Ted Johnson all of Erie, PA, Rodney Johnson of Benton Harbor, MI,  LaVelt Johnson, LaTeddie Johnson, and Richard Johnson all of Georgia; his sisters, Aldonia Atkins of Benton Harbor, MI, Vita Young of Winder, GA, Scertia Lee and Tedra Johnson both of Grand Rapids, MI; a god daughter, Ja'Mayha Outlaw of North Carolina; his god brothers, Cortez Cook of Phoenix, AZ, Dennis Jones of Atlanta, GA, Jamall and Javell McElrath of Benton Harbor, MI; and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Friends may visit with the family at Christ Community Church 923 E 6th Street, on Saturday, November 9, 2019, from 10 am to 12 pm, where a service will immediately follow with Rev. Darrell K. Cook eulogizing. Interment will be private. Professional services are entrusted to Pitts Funeral Home, 2926 Pine Avenue, Erie, PA 16504.
