Roylin "Roy" Petties Sr., 87, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 1, 2024; in his home. Born May 29th, 1936, in Midland, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Charles and Lona Petties.

He leaves to mourn his passing his sons Roylin Petties Jr. and Jim (Elizabeth Hudson) Petties.  His sister Mary (James) Sallie. Grandchildren Desire (Jerome) Maynor, Durrico Foster, Roylin (Maria) Petties III, and Arys Petties. He also leaves his great-grandchildren, Nyauna and Alana Petties, a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Last but not least, he leaves his best friend, Gary (Connie) Barker.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa Petties; sister, Gloria Pack; brother, Charles Petties; and daughters, Adrienne Petties and Dee Dee Vaughn; also, his granddaughter, Jasmine Petties.

Roylin served in the United States Air Force from 1955 through 1959. He returned home due to the death of his father. He was known throughout Midland as a hard-working man. He worked in the steel mill in Midland for over 35 years.

He enjoyed hosting his annual family cookout on the 4th of July, where he would display his barbequing skills. His sense of humor and wittiness was unmatched. He leaves a legacy of hard work and dedication to family behind him. He will be missed by many.

Calling hours for friends will be Friday from 6-8 at First Baptist Midland/Beaver, 370 Beaver Street Beaver, Pa. A homegoing celebration will be held Saturday 11 am at First Baptist Midland/Beaver, Pastor Cordell Fountain will officiate with his grandson Pastor Roylin Petties III, delivering his eulogy.
