Ruby Parker Carr was born on March 7, 1943, in Shabuta, Mississippi, to the late Lee Ollie Parker and Lucille Cooley Parker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Oscar Carr; Johnnie Bryant; Willie Carr; Eddie Carr; Barber Grayson; Diane McQueen; Arther T. Bone Carr; Georgia Corder; and her cherished grandson, Oscar Ondra Carr Jr. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Henry Parker, Edward Parker, Levi Parker, and Ronnie Smith.

During her lifetime, Ruby was employed at Erie Cotton Products in Erie, Pennsylvania, where she later retired. She was a faithful attendee of The House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church and Miracle Temple in Erie, PA, where she worshiped alongside her grandson, Jonathan. Ruby served faithfully as a minister, evangelist, and member of the Mothers' Board. She was a loving, praying mother and grandmother, and she will always be remembered for her comforting words: "God is so, so good."

Ruby Parker Carr leaves to cherish her memory: Merlyn Coles, William Phillips, Oscar Ondra Carr (Cindy), Hattie Johnson, Evelyn Carr, and Oscar Carr Jr. of Arizona; along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She is also survived by her brother, Ray Parker (Cozette); her sister, Betty Jean Forthner of Heidelberg, Mississippi; two uncles, Joe Louis Cooley of Laurel, Mississippi, and Freeman Colley of Chicago, Illinois; Ruby Lee McLaurin Parker; Cynthia Arrington of Laurel, Mississippi; her loving nephew, Mark Carr (Brenda); and two dear friends, Berniece Bingham and Trudy Jones.
