Reflections of her Life's Journey

Sandra Vivian Jones,

affectionately known as Aggie by her family, transitioned home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 15, 2022. She was born May 24, 1949 in Staten Island, New York where she lived her entire formative years. Sandra was educated in the New York Public Schools. As a young girl she took piano lessons and enjoyed singing with her sisters Marilyn, Patricia and cousin Samuel Nelson. This young quartet sang in churches and on radio throughout New York City.

Sandra was raised attending Pentecostal Faith Church of God, Inc. She was active in the Junior Choir and the Young People's Endeavor. During her childhood she attended the Salvation Army's Daily Vacation Bible School each summer and was active in their after-school activities, Sunbeans and Girl Guards. Throughout her teenage years she continued to be active in the Salvation Army. After her graduation from high school Sandra entered into training to become an officer in the Salvation Army. After her two-year training, she was sent to Pennsylvania to serve in Pastoral care. Sandra married the late Raymond C. Jones in 1974. From this union came their three sons: Joshua Raymond Jones; Melvin Eugene Clark Jones, and Jesse Carrington Jones.

Several years after serving with the Salvation Army, Sandra was employed with The University of Pittsburgh as an administrative assistant in 1990 - 2001. Sandra moved on to work with several area businesses in the mortgage Industry. She spent the last 14 years with Mr. Cooper Mortgage Company.

Sandra also served for many years in the media departments at The Church In The Round, under Bishop Melvin E. Clark, and at Sound The Alarm Ministries under, Pastors Rick and Vera Shymoniak. She later went on to worship at Sacred Commons under the leadership of her Pastor J.P. Robles.  May the work she has done in the Kingdom speak for her and glorify God in Heaven. Sandra loved the Lord with all of her heart and soul. Her life in Christ was her biggest testimony.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Isaac Carrington and Doris Vivian Allen of Staten Island, New York; her husband Elder Raymond C. Jones her brothers Ronald Allen and Isaac Allen; her nephew: Maurice Allen. She leaves to cherish her memory her sons: Joshua Raymond Jones; Melvin Eugene Clark Jones and Jesse Carrington Jones; (Falonda Jones);  her spiritual son and daughter: J.P. and Diana Robles; her siblings, Marilyn Landry,  Patricia Allen, Tracey Sullivan; and Christian Davis of Staten Island, New York; her aunts and uncle: Golda Elder, Virginia Henman and Raymond Jenkins; her nieces and nephews Shawn Landry; Marcus Allen; Jerrod Davis; Joshua Davis; Aniya Allen; Jaysen Sullivan; Jada Sullivan; her great niece and nephew: Jazmine Allen and Andre Allen. Her Granddaughter Ashley Wright, and her great Granddaughter, Layla Wright- Jones, along with a host of cousins and friends.

Friends may visit with the family at Greater Dominion Church Of The Millennium, 415 Melrose Ave, Ambridge, PA 15003,  on Saturday, May 28, 2022, from 10 am to 12 pm, where a home going celebration will immediately follow.
