Sandra was born in Erie, PA on Dec 21, 1945, and was a life-long resident. She was educated in Erie Public Schools, Gannon College and Erie School of Practical Nursing. She was employed by Hamot Medical Center and retired in 2009, after 42 years of service.

She was predeceased by maternal grandparents Sam and Avie Wyatt, paternal grandparents Morris and Cora McNeil, parents Aaron and Willard McNeil, and husband Shawl Tate.

She is survived by her children – Angela Marie, David Alexander (Tamika), Lori Ann, and Timothy Jason. Also, grandchildren – Brent, Loreal, Sharla, Aaron, Matthew, Kayle, Cameron, and great grandchildren – Amaunte and Londyn. She is further survived by a sister Barbara Oxner and her family, and a number of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends including her favorite nephew Albert Tate and dear niece Niyki Tate. Her family meant everything to her and she loved them all dearly.

Sandra held membership in Mount Zion SDA Church and served in many ministries over the years. Her church family has been a constant source of joy and support throughout her life. She saw them all as her brothers and sisters.

Friends may call at Mt. Zion SDA Church, 204 E 24th St, Erie, on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, where a celebration of life service will follow. Interment will take place at Lakeside Cemetery. Professional services are entrusted to Pitts Funeral Home, 2926 Pine Ave, Erie, PA 16504.
