Sharon Denise Newell, affectionately known as "Shernie," 63, of Erie, PA, officially gained her angel wings on November 11, 2025. Born July 15, 1962, in Erie, she was the daughter of the late Cammie Ruth and Jimmie C. Newell, Sr., and the devoted mother of Jordan Spencer Newell.

Sharon will be remembered for her gentle spirit, deep faith, and heart of service. She faithfully served the Lord, her family, and Abundant Life Church of Erie as a prayer intercessor, greeter, and member of the Women of Excellence Fellowship. As a teen, she shared her light as a cheerleader and choir singer at East High School, and later dedicated more than a decade of service to Presque Isle Downs before working at Country Fair.

She is survived by her son, Jordan; siblings Talese Turner (Jerome), Valgean Martin (Royal Darnell), Jacqueline Sims Barros (Richard), Belinda Newell-Mosley (Robert Kelly), and Jimmie Newell, Jr. (Marlo); stepmother Josephine Newell; step-siblings, LaValle Jenkins and Brenda Christmon; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, Walter and Gestoria Newell.

Her deep compassion and ability to make others feel seen and loved will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
