Terry Gene "Ted" Gilkey, 65, of Erie, PA, passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Saint Vincent Hospital. He was born on December 17, 1953 in Stamps, Arkansas to the late George Sr. and Annie Mae Laudermill- Gilkey.

He graduated in 1973, from Stamps High School in Arkansas. Terry was a resident of Erie, PA for the last 35 years and worked for Erie Cotton Products as a truck driver.

Terry loved fishing, listening to the blues and spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by seven siblings, (his twin) Dorothy, George Jr., Charles, Burnis, Curtis, and William Gilkey, and Ruth Williams.

He leaves to cherish his memory, a daughter whom was very dear to his heart, Leana Allen of Erie, PA; a son, Demetric Henderson of Stamps, AR; his step-children, Tahlia McClendon, Duane And Kristina Harkless; his brothers, Robert (Gail) and Raymond of Stamps, AR, Dennis (Patricia) of Cleveland, Texas,  and Otis (Denise) Gilkey of Vallejo, CA; his sisters, Cynthia Gilkey of Stamps, AR and Linda Gilkey of CA; his significant other, Susan Harkless of Erie, PA; 18 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Friends may visit with the family at Greater Calvary Full Gospel Baptist Church, 2624 German St., on Friday, January 11, 2019, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., where a service will immediately follow, with Pastor Otis Gilkey of Vallejo, CA eulogizing and Bishop Jesse N. Gavin officiating. Interment will be at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery. Professional services are entrusted to Pitts Funeral Home, 2926 Pine Avenue, Erie, PA 16504.
