Obituary for Tonja Hermeta Stevens

Tonja Stevens-Amen Ra, 57, of Aliquippa, PA went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 12, 2024, at 9:44 p.m. as she slept peacefully at home in Gastonia, NC.

Tonja was born on February 27, 1967 at Aliquippa Hospital, Aliquippa, PA to the late Wallace A Stevens and mother Landis Robinson-Stevens, of Jacksonville, FL.  She attended Blackhawk High School in Beaver Falls, PA and graduated from Peabody High School in Pittsburgh, PA.  After graduating, she would attend Paramedic School and would work for Pittsburgh Paramedics as a paramedic for years.  She had two beautiful children, Lauren Healey and Isaiah Hall which were her two heartbeats. Tonja truly loved her parents, children, all of her siblings and she truly loved her entire family.

Tonj, as most would call her… had a beautiful spirit, smile and heart that always wanted the best for anyone - even if it costed her, her own happiness.  She shared her life with a huge family and her passion for track and field; where she left most of her tears and strength on the track, after her running career ended; she coached track and field for over 30 years. She would ultimately find love, get married and move to Arizona.

Tonja truly loved God and constantly had His name on her tongue and always had a good Word and scripture to share with you… Isaiah 40:27-31 would be her favorite… she had a lifetime of believing in God and knowing that she was a child of the "Most High God" (as she shared that with you all on her FB profile) … her faith was strong and it was beautiful.

She was preceded in death by her father, Wallace A Stevens.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory - her mother Landis Robinson of Jacksonville, FL; her two children: daughter, Lauren Healey, Pittsburgh, PA and son Isaiah Hall of Los Angeles, CA;  her Sisters: Cherise Stevens-Pryor (Tim) of Penn Hills, PA; Beverly Watson (Charles) of Detroit, MI; Anita Stevens-Baskin (Fredrick) of San Antonio, TX; Bonita "Bo" Stevens of Lawrenceville, GA; Christina Mullen-Bass (Joe), Lithonia, GA; Diana Stevens-Nizer (Bob) of East Liverpool, OH; Laura Farr, Monica, PA; Toya Stevens of Detroit, MI and Kawaii Arnold of Taylor, MI, Lexi Arnold, Los Angeles CA; - and Brothers: Dessie Wiley, Beaver Falls, PA; Greg Brown of Westland, MI; Wallace "Dicky" Stevens of Lawrenceville, GA; Larry "Dino" Stevens of Detroit, MI; Richard "Ric" Stevens (Monique) of Rochester Hills, MI; LaQuinn "Quincy" (Angela), Detroit, MI; and Lauren Stevens, Detroit, MI. Three Grandchildren:  Gabrielle, Gabriel, and Gi'Onna - a special cousin Rolanda Robinson-Mayo and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

The family has entrusted PITTS FUNERAL HOME OF ALIQUIPPA to make her final arrangements.  You may send flowers, cards and acknowledgements to Pitts at the address listed below as the family would greatly appreciate it.

Both the Visitation and Homegoing Services will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024.  Her visitation will be from 11:00am to 1:00pm and her Homegoing Celebration will follow immediately after the visitation at 1:00pm.

The repass will be held at The Quippian Club, 2205 Sheffield Road, Aliquippa, PA immediately after her services to continue her celebration of life.
