Velma J. Willis, 76, a longtime resident of Aliquippa, passed away on February 28, 2019.

Velma was born June 15, 1942 in Clayton, LA to the late Bernice Smith Jackson and L. V. Snyder. In addition to her parents, Velma was preceded in death by son, LaZane Willis.

She worked at Heritage Valley Beaver Medical Center for over 30 years. Velma was known for her love of children, and after retirement she worked in the Head Start program. She was a faithful member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Aliquippa, where she diligently worked in the culinary and pastor's aide committees.

She is survived by son, Aqurinas Smith; grandchildren, Shaquee Henderson, Aqurinas C. Smith, Shanirqua Johnson; three great grandchildren; five sisters, three brothers and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
