Vernon K. Gavin, 56, of Erie, PA passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 7, 2021.  He was born in Erie, PA on July 15, 1964 to the Late Abbie L. Gavin, Sr. and Dora Hall Gavin.

Vernon was a believer in Jesus Christ as his Savior and Redeemer.

He was affectionately known as 6"3'

He was employed by the Erie School District as an Office Manager at Erie High School.  He previously worked at Wilson Jr. High and Phiffer - Burleigh Elementary.  He was a weekend Client Advocate at Community of Caring.

Vernon attended Edinboro University and earned an Associate Degree in Media Production from the University of Louisville.  He owned his own Production Company called Master Mind Productions.  He produced a community awareness show for local access TV.  He loved watching football and basketball.  He loved to dance, go to casinos, travelling, comedy shows and torturing his sisters.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Herbert and Abbie L. Gavin Jr. and a nephew; Abbie Jibri Gavin.

He leaves to cherish his memory two brothers, F. Lee (Michelle) of Conyers, GA and Sydney of Erie, seven sisters; Eva Henderson, Charlotte, Wendy and Veronica (Anthony) Brown of Erie, Charmaine Franklin Page of Pittsburgh, PA, Victoria (Timothy) Higgins of Oklahoma City, OK and his dearly loved twin sister, Valencia (Joseph) Wilson of Baltimore, MD.  He leaves the joys of his life, six nephews – Richard Page, Jameel Gavin, Tarik, Gary and Ashley Henderson, Chase Wilson, six nieces – Gillian (Robert) Anderson, Kylene and Charmaine Henderson, Marquetta Gavin, Gabrielle Gavin and Chelsea Wilson, six grand-nieces and nephews – Amon, Kane, McKenna and Kai Page, Isaiah and Ella Gavin and Noah Henderson and two very special friends; Cassandra Howard and Berry Sherrod.
