Mr. Willie C. McAdory "Mr. Erie", 82, of Erie, PA, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 06, 2024. He was born on February 16, 1942 in Terry, MS to the late Charles and Geneva McAdory, Sr.

Willie moved from Terry, MS via Laurel, MS in 1952. He graduated from East High School.

In 1967, he attended a meeting at Central City Nato and realized that he had something to offer the community. He went on to work as the Director of the recruiter – counselor- coach division for the Comprehensive Manpower Development Program at the Opportunities Industrialization Center (O.I.C). Where they recruited and prepared Black men for good paying industrial jobs. He also worked under the Mayor's office of Community Affairs for the City of Erie. After years of politics, Willie decided to work with the New York Central Railroad as a track foreman, and with the Refuge Center for the homeless as a part-time counselor.

Willie C. has served the community of Erie in many ways, with groups and as an individual.  Willie C. was a father figure to so many fatherless kids and men, steering them in the right direction whether they wanted to hear it or not. He always showed respect and demanded his.

He served on several committees such as Community Health Net and the Human Relations Commission. We could write a book on Willie C., but that is not necessary. He is a legend and his legacy will shine on through all the lives he has touched.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his spouses – Claudette McAdory and Pearlie McAdory; brother – Charles McAdory, Jr.; and sister – Maggie McAdory.

He leaves to cherish his memory and live out his legacy – his children – Cassandra McAdory, Carmilla McAdory, Jomo McAdory, Anwan McAdory, RaHeem McAdory, Rason McAdory, Rashad McAdory, and Stephanie Lofton; honorary children – Kim Huffman, Big & Little Beason, and Rodney "Soup" Payne; goddaughter – Carla Adams; his devoted life friend – Patricia Smith; eighteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the family at Victory Christian Center, 1129 Pennsylvania Ave, Erie, PA 16503, on Saturday, Dec 14, 2024, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, where a celebration of life will immediately follow. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery. Professional services are entrusted to Pitts Funeral Home, 2926 Pine Ave, Erie, PA 16503.
