Her Story

Zandra Rikaele Hayes, affectionately known as "Peaches", departed this life surrounded by her loved ones, on Thursday July 2, 2026.

Zandra Rikaele Hayes was born on August 20, 1968, in Sandusky, Ohio to her loving parents Phyllis McGinnis and Steve Hayes.

Affectionately known as "Peaches" by her family and friends, Zandra had a warm smile, a compassionate heart, and a loving spirit that made everyone she met feel welcome. She was an attendee of Aliquippa High School, Class of 1988. Following high school, she went on to attend and graduate from Beaver Falls Beauty Academy and obtained her Cosmetology Diploma and License, before discovering her true calling as a certified nurse's aid and caregiver. Zandra found great joy in caring for others so much that in 2014 she became a foster parent to Xavier Horton, whom she adopted two years later on November 18, 2016. Her gentle nature and selfless heart left a lasting impression on countless families whose lives she touched.

Outside of her career, Zandra cherished spending time with her family and friends. Among the simple pleasures she enjoyed, she could often be found trying her luck at the slot machines, where the excitement of the game and the hope of a jackpot always brought a smile to her face."She also enjoyed utilizing her free time to endeavor into her interior decorating skills,styling her regular clientele, music, shopping, reading, and traveling. She found happiness in life's simple moments, especially those shared with the people she loved most. Her laughter, wisdom, generosity and unwavering love created memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. Zandra's legacy is one of strength, and unconditional love.

Zandra lived a life filled with purpose and love. She will be immensely missed and leaves to cherish her precious memories, her father, Steve Hayes; Conway, PA, her beloved children: one son, Tiqwai Hayes; Aliquippa, PA; and three daughters, Kevonna Thomas, Shamika Hayes, and Lashonna Hayes-Owens all of Aliquippa, PA. Fourteen cherished grandchildren: Tiqwai Hayes Jr.,Marqwone Nakoa, Trimayne Pugh, Charles Alford III, Th'Dyus McCants, Zailin McCants, Merika Thomas, Joyus Thomas,Jaiden Hayes, Kassidy Humphries, Mylee Humphries, Scottie Humphries, Sincere Humphries, and Nashaun Owens. She is further survived by her loving siblings: two brothers Jason Clinton;Monaca,PA and Kelly Capel; Aliquippa,PA, and seven  sisters, Stephanie Hayes, Jada Hayes, Fredricka Clinton, and Aretha Clinton all of Aliquippa PA, Yvette Clinton; Sandusky, OH, Danita Stevens(McGregor); Madison AL, and Carley Hayes; Pittsburgh,PA. A host of loving maternal and paternal step-siblings. Three aunts Irene Reddick and Anna Mae Shipp both of Aliquippa PA, and Tina Sims: Detroit MI, one uncle Stanley Mcginnis; Pittsburgh PA and a host of additional aunts and uncles from Sandusky,OH. Very special cousins Larry and David Blair; Pittsburgh,PA. Numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were enriched by her love and friendship. She also leaves behind her special friends, Bonita Roscoe, Rhonda Harvey, Monique Tucker, Lamont Burchett, and Marvin Pugh all of Aliquippa whose unwavering love meant so much to her.

Zandra was preceded in death by her devoted mother Phyliis McGinnis, paternal grandparents Josephine Ellis and J.D Hayes, maternal grandparents, Bernice and Russell McGinnis, step-father Fredrick Clinton,  son Xavier Horton, brothers, Justin Clinton and Bernard Beasley; aunts Edith Kirby, Gloria Blair,and Janet McGinnis, uncles Russell McGinnis Jr., Robert McGinnis and Reuben Kirby, nephews, Jarell Green,Stephon Peake, and Tamon North, best friend Katrina Pugh  and other cherished family members who welcomed her into eternal rest.
